Move over Soft Matte Lip Creams, because now we have Xtreme Lip Creams. Sounds like Akshay Kumar in Fear Factor Extreme: “ab aur bhi zyada khatarnaak“. Btw I like that show because it gets “aur bhi zyada khatarnaak” with every season? Naah! Because I like to see Akshay perform stunts. It starts in June every year..but no signs yet.

Nyx Claims: Beautify your lips with this velvety rich lip cream that provides extreme pigmentation and a silky finish. This lip cream is the combination of lipstick and lip gloss with supernatural lasting strength. Intensify your look with the Extreme Lip Cream in any of the 13 vivid colors.

The colour is very rightly named – Skin Tone. Its a warm peach nude shade with enough of brown to suit the medium skin tones and just the right amount of peach to turn into a nude but without any washing out abilities. I can safely say it is by far my FAVOURITE nude lip colour. Some of the nudes I’ve are too brown that they look coffee, some are too peach that they wash out but this one is just perfect! If Nyx Frapuccino washes you out, then you must try this one out. And no it doesn’t look like my skin tone..puhleez! Skin = nude, right? If you are on fairer side, it will look a warm toffee colour but if you are anywhere near my nc37 skin tone, skin tone will suit you perfectly. I made a gamble when I ordered this online. I was afraid it would be too light for my skin but seems I’m lucky wen it comes to online shopping!
Quality, Texture, Longevity, others:
On pigmentation front, it is loaded. Below you see only one swipe and see how the colour matches the tube. The texture is creamy but not glossy, like a molten lipstick. Needless to say, its non-sticky. And lasts for 6+ hours without meals.
Nyx Soft Matte Creams v/s Nyx Xtreme Lip Creams:
The finish of Xtreme Lip Creams is better than the Soft Matte Creams since those look patchy when layered and make your lips look dehydrated at the end of the day but these on the hand never look patchy, can be layered and are super creamy. Soft Matte Creams need well exfoliated, primed and moisturized lips but these are anti-high maintenance! I prefer these over the Soft Creams since those are little difficult to work with.
Much has been written about how these smell…bit plasticy. I almost puked when I first smelled the Nyx Round Lipgloss but these are less plasticy than the lip glosses. But still Nyx NEEDS to work on its trademark fragrance. If you have been using Nyx from a long time, you probably would not even notice the smell..like me!

Its available in 13 shades: I’m sure getting Buttery Nude and Pinky Nude. The rest are all too pink or too red or too nude for me.

Let’s look at the swatches:

*Sorry forgot the lip swatch. I will put it up later*

Price: $6
(these are newly launched, so I believe these are not on Indian shopping websites but you can get them through b2nshop.com or beautyjoint.com. I HATE cherryculture, no sign of my 6 months old package..uggh!)

So is it for you? Yes I recommend it to all the medium dusky girls who are sick of searching for their perfect nude. This one will suit Indian skin tones without washing them out. The formula is like a liquid lipstick, so expect the pigmentation of a lipstick but tube, doe foot applicator, ease of a lip gloss. I like them better than the Soft Matte Lip Creams.
