Monday Mornings. Everyone loves to hate them, as we’re always running around, trying to get everything right on time. Getting our makeup right is altogether a different matter, for we just have to rush through it. Base- check. Eyeliner- check. Mascara-check. Lipstick- oh let me wear pink, today. Oh, but there’s that meeting which wouldn’t warrant such bright colour. Ok then, this other mauve shade- but this has too much gloss in it, which would look over the top, again. What do I wear?? Seems like someone had been listening for Colorbar Deep Matte Lip Creme is exactly we’d been looking for. Especially in the shade- Deep Earth which I will review and swatch today.
Isn’t choosing an appropriate lipstick for office such a big task? I mean, sometimes it’s too bright, or too shiny and inadvertently forcing us to pick bland shades.

My Review of Colorbar Lip Creme Deep Earth:
Colorbar Deep Matte Lip Creme is like a liquid lipstick- only that the gloss part hasn’t been overdone, so it doesn’t appear very shiny. Although at the same time, I wouldn’t exactly term it as a matte lipstick. It’s kind of in between these two & which makes it very wearable. Deep Earth is like a light earthy orange shade with brown undertones, and it would really suit olive skin tones. However, this does kind of wash me out, but when I used my bronzer with a heavy-hand, it turned out to be fabulous.
Texture: The texture is quite moisturizing & leaves my lips soft, even after removing this. The consistency is thick, like a dense mousse, but the formula feels absolutely weightless on application. Although, while application the thick texture can settle into lines so it’d be good to use a lip balm beforehand.
Pigmentation: The pigmentation of Deep Earth is what impressed me the most here. Usually liquid lipsticks aren’t that great with one swipe & you’d need at least 2-3 swipes to deposit a good amount of colour. However, that’s definitely not the case here with the lip cremes, for just one swipe is enough to give ample coverage. The colour is adequately deposited in the first swipe itself and has a good amount of sheen to it as well.
Longevity: The longevity is quite good as well, although these colorbar matte creams certainly do not qualify as longwearing lipsticks. I did need a touch-up during the day, but it stays put for at least 3-4 hours, if I’m a little careful while eating/drinking. Again, it doesn’t bleed usually, but if you apply too many coats then it may bleed at edges. So make sure that you use the applicator wisely and do not deposit the product more than what is actually required.
Packaging: This comes in the signature Colorbar packaging with a thick glass tube, and silver cap, which certainly makes identification easy as a pie. Even the applicator is quite comfortable for precise application and spreads the products evenly.
Good-points about Colorbar Deep Matte Lip Creme Deep Earth:

- Just one swipe is enough to deliver decent pigmentation.

Not-so-good-points about Colorbar Deep Matte Lip Creme Deep Earth:
- Kind of washes me out, and would suit olive Indian skin tones better.
- Try not to apply too many coats, for multiple coats may bleed.

In a nut-shell: Colorbar Deep Matte Lip Creme is definitely a revolutionary products, and Deep Earth is a beautiful shade, albeit more suitable for olive skin tones. If you can pull this off, rest assured that this would be the most worn lipstick in your collection- for it’s utterly weightless and the perfect office wearing shade. However, there are like 10 shades to choose from, so you’re bound to find the one, which looks fabulous on you. The texture, consistency & longevity make it the perfect lipstick to be kept in your Bag.
