Elle18 is one of those whose nail polishes drove us crazy back in class 8 or 9, and it was like the CULT thing back then in school, and today here I write about these little pink pops sitting on my table. ELLE 18 launched a bunch of peppy colours in the new 6hr Color Boost lipstick range endorsed by Anushka Sharma, for the fun of college and school girls, and we got around 7 shades to try for ourselves. In this review and swatch post I would be talking about the first impressions. A detailed review would follow ASAP (because I am lageeee!!)
Elle 18 Claims: A blast of colour with a punch of cocoa. The intense moisturizing core in the centre protects and cares for your lips.

My Review of Elle 18 Color Boost Lipsticks:
Elle 18 Colour Pops Lipstick Price: Rs.150
PACKAGING: even though the packaging looks extra cute, the material actually is a little flimsy, and I guess not very reliable when travelling. In fact one my bullets even broke in the mail. The packaging is black plastic tube with hot pink accents and a cute girl cartoon stamped on it.
SHADES: we got 7 shades, out of which I liked red passion the best
STAYING POWER: the staying power with these , are commendable for the price of Rs.150 that they are charging. It stays on for 3-4 hours, with slight fading, and the darker reds, do leave a stain behind.

Elle 18 Color Boost Lipstick Shades:
Elle 18 SUPERLICIOUS RED:
a medium toned red, not very bright, with visible warm pink undertones. It is one those reds that is best for starters on red lipsticks, or people like me, who aren’t very keen on wearing red, as it looses its red intensity when spread on the lips, and shows up more pink-red. This one offers more of a creamy satin matte finish. Gives opaque coverage in 2 swipes.
Elle 18 HOLLYWOOD PINK:
I don’t know why they named it as pink, because this in no way is a pink colour, rather it is a mauvey-berry colour with slight bit cool undertones. It goes opaque in two swipes and has a little shine to it, but more of a satin finish.
Elle 18 BLONDE PINK:
it is the classic pale pink, with warm undertones, apt for fair beauties. This is the only one amongst all of these color boost lipsticks that has very fine micro specs of shimmer in it, giving out a soft shine, and goes opaque in almost 3 swipes.
Elle 18 MISS PINK:
it is a mac’s chatterbox dupe, a pale pink with cool pastel undertones. Goes opaque in a single swipe, giving out a soft satin finish.
Elle 18 Hyper Orange:
this an orangy coral, with slight bit of pastel undertones to it. It is really creamy but to a point that is kind of melting. And this is one of those colours that goes on really patchy on the lips, giving out a glossy finish.
Elle 18 NUDE CORAL:
this is one my another favourite in all the shades. As the name suggests that it is a nude colour with warm peachy coral undertones, goes on sheer, so need upto 3-4 swipes to show up fully opaque on the lips. Can be a good budget nude for people with nc35 range of complexion. Gives a slightly glossy finish.
Elle 18 RED PASSION:
a very bright, vibrant red with a warm orangy undertone. This is one the most opaque in terms of pigmentation. Has a medium glossy finish, not to melting or shiny.

Overall: the price point, the colour variety and the pigmentation that we are getting is very good. The color boost lipsticks are apt for college girls, or some school tweenies who want to sneak a little bit into makeup. It has a coca butter core, which claims to nourish. I do feel that these lipsticks don’t really dry out my lips as such, but nor does they hydrate them really. Even though some of the colours do end up a little patchy on the lips but at this price these are better than some of the tinted lip balms in India with similar pricing. These Elle 18 lipsticks are a budget buy and a few colours are worth trying. For detailed reviews on each of these, please stay tuned.
