Biotique Bio Bhringraj Fresh Growth Therapeutic Oil: Review, Price

By Contributor: Monica

Since last 1 year or so I have become quite accustomed to see a couple of strands (infact more than couple of strands) in my comb, everytime I run through my hair. I was a bit worried initially, tried a thing or two, started eating eggs also but could not see much of a difference so gradually stopped making efforts. Thus, since then have accepted this hairfall as a part and parcel of my life. Recently, when I got the Bio Bhringraj Fresh Growth hair oil, my attention again shifted to my hair. I religiously started applying the oil for 1-2 hours once every week. I have also started taking Biotin supplements, 1 tablet a day. So lets review and see if I was successful in my battle against hairfall this time.

Biotique Claims: This intensive formula features pure bhringraj, butea frondosa, amla and centella blended with coconut oil and the healthfulness of goat milk to help treat alopecia and other causes of hair loss. Nourishes the scalp and strengthens hair strands to encourage fresh growth and help diminish greying.

Ingredients: Bhringraj (Eclipta erecta), Amla (Emblica officinalis), Tesu (Butea frondosa), Mulethi (Glycyrrhiza glabra), Brahmi (Hydrocotyle asiatica), Goa Dugdha (Cow milk), Aja Dugdha (Goat milk).

My Review:

Packaging: packaging of the bhringraj hair oil is exactly same as that of Bio almond cleanser. I keep the both in same drawer and there would have been all the chances of confusion had the cap not had the sticker with bhringraj onto it. The Bio almond cleanser has picture of almonds on the top of cap. Thus the stickers make this easy to recognize.

Texture: the Biotique hair oil cores 100/100 in this department. Really! It has really thin, watery texture and is easy to spread onto the scalp unlike the olive oil, I was using earlier. Once applied, my hair do not feel sticky or heavy at all.

Color and Fragrance: the bhringraj oil is slightly yellow in color, almost transparentish yellow (only if that was a color :-P). The oil has a very herbal sort of strong fragrance. Sensitive noses might have a problem but someone like me who has also applied eggs onto my hair, fragrance is not an issue.

I have oily scalp and dry ends, therefore, I use the biotiqie bhringraj hair oil once a week for 2-3 hours and then wash it off with my regular shampoo. The first time I used it, I deliberately skipped the conditioner to see if it helps in softening the hair and to my surprise, it did. Upon drying my hair felt utterly soft to touch and I noticed less flyaways. I was impressed. Also in washing off, I did not require more quantity than I generally use so you can be assured that its not one of those thick oily oils.

I have been using this for more than 3 months now and am basically happy with it. I mean it does not do any miracles but is decent enough to be used regularly. As far as hairfall reduction is concerned, I have seen like almost 50% reduction which is quite remarkable I say but I have been taking biotin supplements too, so cannot attribute entire success to the oil. But it helps maintaining the hair and keeping them soft and healthy. Also when I use this oil as pre wash I have observed that I don’t require serum because my hair already feel soft and tamed.

As far as the claim of regrowth is concerned, I am yet to see that on my hair. Also I don’t have any grey hair as yet so can’t comment on the claims of diminishing greying.

What I love about Biotique Bio Bhringraj Therapeutic Oil for Falling Hair:

  • Easy to use packaging.
  • Very light texture
  • Makes hair soft upon washing
  • Reduces hairfall to an extent
  • A little goes a long way.
  • Quite affordable

What I love about Biotique Bio Bhringraj Therapeutic Oil for Falling Hair:

  • No miraculous result on hairfall
  • No regrowth as claimed.

Price: Rs.159 for 120 ml

VNA Rating: 3.75/5

Do I Recommend: Well yes if you have good hair to begin with and slight hairfall and want to maintain it further in time, you can definitely buy this but if you have major hairfall or other hair issues, I doubt if this alone can help.
