Review and Price of Clarins Lotus Face Treatment Oil Oily or Combination Skin

By Contributor: Agnirupa

In spite of reading so many reviews about miraculous face oils (the body shop, kama kukumadi to name a few) my oilfield face always scared me away from even bothering to try but as its winter and my face was crying for more hydration I decided to take the plunge and walked around the entire mall sniffing and investigating. Once I tried the Face Treatment Oil Lotus Combination or Oily Skin by Clarins, I couldn’t ignore the aromatherapy like smell and the beautiful texture and boom! I splurged!

Clarins Claims: Rebalancing oils made from 100% pure plant extracts. Naturally astringent for Oily or Combination Skin. 100% pure plant extracts. Clarins’ exclusive blend of Rosemary, Geranium and Lotus extracts purifies, tightens pores and refines the skin texture. Hazelnut Oil softens, soothes and seals in moisture to prevent fine lines.

How to apply: In the evening, after thorough cleansing and toning, apply a small amount to face and neck still damp with Toning Lotion, avoiding the eye contour. Gently dab face with a soft tissue to remove any excess product.

My Review:

The facial oil comes in quite a heavy glass bottle (ouch) with a lovely dropper which is extremely useful since you only need to use a couple of drops everyday! But of course, its an absolute no-no for travelling and a pain to handle when your hands are slippery and all.

The color is yellow and the texture of this facial oil is absolutely gorgeous! Very very light, non-greasy, non-sticky, and easily absorbed by my skin. I wet my face with my kama rose water (any toner will do also) and gently press in a couple of drops all over my face (do watch the application video on the site) it gets instantly absorbed and my skin looks and feels fresh and plump without any greasy film on the surface or any heavy feel.

Over a period of a couple of months, my skin has greatly improved in texture- the dry patches are gone, I have suffered from no break-outs and I have seen a visible glow! My skin looks and feels softer and smoother. And I have hardly finished 10% of this bottle.

I adorree the fragrance! Fresh, green, aromatherapic fragrance which lingers on and on. Ladies with sensitive noses might not like it that much!

  • The texture of this oil is so light and non-greasy gets instantly absorbed by the skin
  • Does not leave any heavy oily film over face!
  • Makes skin instantly plumped and fresh
  • Did not break me out
  • Banished my dryness-improved my skin tone
  • Adoring green fresh fragrance which lingers!

The cons of Clarins Lotus Face Treatment Oil Lotus Oily or Combination Skin:

  • None really for me! It is pricey, but for the amount I require for each use, it might last me a year or more!

Price: Rs.2425 for 30ml when I bought

VNA Rating: 4/5

Do I recommend? Well this is a highly rated facial oil all around blogosphere and I must say I like it very much! But indispensable its certainly not. It is of a lovely texture, fragrance, does impart a glow to skin and take care of dryness without breaking sensitive people out but I saw no miracle and am eager to try out kama next.

  2. I simply love it’s fragrance. :) But sadly it doesn’t work for me during summers. I can use it only during winters despite their claim that it’s for oily skin.
