Street Wear Kajal Review

By Contributor: Mamta

We Indian women love our kohls and kajals and use them on regular basis. Although I am pretty loyal to both Maybelline colossal and Lakme eyeconic kajal and alternate between them, this time I decided to try this latest Street Wear launch by Revlon. Recently Street Wear had launched an entire new color rich collection which consists of many products all with a very attractive and cute packaging, today I will swatch and review the Color Rich Kajal.

Street Wear Claims: Designed for fashionable women, this ‘Color Rich’ combo of a kajal with sharpener from Street Wear will help you define your eyes in the most effective manner. A must-have in your make-up kit, this combo will help you get a perfect party look. Color Rich Chasmic Kajal glides on super smooth and soft on the eyes making it easy to apply for a perfect glossy finish. The camphor and castor oil blends together to cool and soothe your eyes.

My Review:

The kajal comes in a thick black sharpenable pencil form, with a sturdy cap attached. The cap has graphic illustration of a girl over it, which does make the packing really attractive and different. I like the fact that it comes along with a sharpener, just incase one does not have it on hand! But the problem is that it gets difficult to get a fine tip on the pencil while sharpening.

The kajal has a faint camphor fragrance which feels soothing. The shade looks quite a pigmented black but when swatched it looks more like grey black even after 2-3 swipes and very much lacks in pigmentation. After swiping it for a good 4-5 times I could see the color getting close to a true deep black which is not feasible for the delicate eyes.

The texture is smooth and creamy, but not overly soft which helps in even application and the tip does not break easily. It glides very smoothly on eyes. It did not irritate or sting my sensitive eyes at all. But the formula is pretty average and it tends to move and slide around quite a lot and hence it’s not a good idea to use it as a base for eye shadows as well.

It is not at all smudge proof and waterproof. It smudges very easily barely within an hour of application on waterline and looks messy, eventually fading, when used on top lash line it lasted for two hours before smudging. It comes off quite easily with a makeup remover when compared to other kajals and doesn’t require many efforts in removal.

  • Cute Packaging.
  • Comes with Sharpener.
  • Very affordable price.
  • Glides smoothly without any tugging.
  • Did not cause any irritation on my eyes.

What I don’t like about Street Wear Color Rich Kajal:

  • Average pigmentation.

  • Smudges very easily.
  • Needs to be sharpened.
  • It does not sharpen smoothly to get a fine tip.
  • Very low staying power.

Price: Rs 99

VNA Rating: 2.5/5

Do I recommend? I don’t think I would recommend Street Wear Kajal to anyone due to the poor pigmentation and low staying power despite of it being a budget product, it’s better to skip it and go for other better options available in the market.
