My Search for liquid lipsticks started with limecrime Velvetines. But sadly out of 6 only 3 shades are wearable and I was in search of liquid lipsticks in more shades. After discussing with my friends abroad, they suggested me to try another high end brand KAT VON D I tried the Everlasting Liquid Lipstick in shade Bahau5 pronounced as Bow House which I will review and swatch today. The famous Katherine von Drachenberg, is a Mexican-born, American tattoo artist, model, musician and television personality. She launched her makeup line exclusively at Sephora USA.

What it is: 
A long-wear, full-coverage liquid lipstick with a smooth matte finish. 

What it does: 
This innovative Everlasting Liquid Lipstick is infused with vitamins A, C, and E for added hydrati on. The next-generation formula gives lips long-lasting wear and high-pigment color with a smooth matte finish. 

Suggested Usage:

• Draw lip outline with applicator tip then fill in color in one easy swipe of rich color.
• Tip: Try a fun two-toned lip look (Kat loves to apply Outlaw on top lip over Backstage Bambi on the bottom lip).

My Review:

The Packaging: it comes in a large cylindrical tube with signature design of Kat Von D on the body. The length of the packaging is more than double the size of limecrime velvetines. It is formulated without Parabens which is another good thing about it. There are more than 12 shades available to choose from. You get the option to pick from -nude to pink -to red –to purple-to raspberry-to burgundy.

KAT VON D BAUHAU5 is described as a Deep raspberry shade. It is medium to dark magenta berry shade with cool undertone. It is a long lasting liquid lipstick which glides on as lipgloss but set to a complete matte finish. This innovative Everlasting Liquid Lipstick is infused with vitamins A, C, and E for added hydration. The formula is long-lasting and a highly pigmented color with a smooth matte finish.

The Texture is liquid to cream ( limecrime velvetine is more liquidy) which applies smoothly on lips and set to a matte finish within 5 secs. It feels like I am applying something creamy which turns matte in 5 sec. The pigmentations is buildable, gives opaque coverage in just 1 swipe. Very nice for those who have pigmented lips. The best way to use liquid lipsticks is wearing them alone. Although it doesn’t dry out my lips but it is suggested to apply lip balm before application. Another point to keep in mind is to exfoliate. If you want to try something like this, you ought to exfoliate and prep your lips before application. Otherwise, it can accentuate lip lines and dry flakes.

The best part is- It is extremely long wearing. It stays put whole day without fading unless you remove it with a heavy duty makeup remover. I don’t need to think about touch ups even after heavy meals. I don’t see any fading at all, plus leaves a strong tint which looks absolutely gorgeous.

What I like about KAT VON D Everlasting Liquid Lipstick BAUHAU5

• Love the shade. Raspberry is a favorite shade of mine.
• Goes on lips like a cream and set completely matte
• The texture is smooth and creamy.
• Very moisturizing and smooth on lips.
• Highly pigmented.
• Doesn’t dry out my lips. I don’t feel dryness even after wearing it for the whole day.
• Absolutely long wearing than any of matte lipsticks.
• Stays put even after heavy meals.
• Leaves a strong tint which looks beautiful.
• 12 different shades available to choose from.
• Paraben Free.
• Cruelty Free.

What I don’t like about KAT VON D MAU5:

• Pricier than MAC. (But it is a high-end brand).
• Availability. Wish it comes to India soon.

Price: $19 USD plus 10% tax – approx $21 USD (pricey than MAC) *facepalm* OMG!! I paid double the mrp!

Recommendation: Those who have used it will definitely agree with me. The shade is lovely and concentrated. I will definitely recommend it, those who don’t mind to splurge and experiment can try it. The only issue it you have to import this product from Sephora USA which will burn your pocket slightly.
