Pleasure Bomb from Riri Hearts MAC Holiday 2013 Review

By Contributor: Samannita

This is the first time that I collected all the lipsticks from a MAC LE collection although one of them does not have the LE packaging. Few months back Riri Hearts MAC Holiday collection launched in India with Riri Woo, Bad Girl Riri and Pleasure Bomb which I will review and swatch today. But as I told you earlier in my review that Pleasure Bomb was not launched in India. I was pretty sad and in frustration I bought Bad Girl Riri instead! And I totally thank my frustration now you see! Let’s see why its such a raved about shade and if you can find any dupes of it.

MAC Pleasure Bomb is a bright fuchsia shade which is truly popping and uniquely festive. The shade is matte bright fuchsia with cool blue undertone with some some red too. I personally find that all cool bright shades look good on my warm skin tone so I must say it is totally a hit with me. In the bullet it looks similar with MAC Riri Woo but on my lips I found the actual difference.  The shade is very unique and will all Indian skin tones. It is so pretty and instantly brightens up my face. I just love love love the lipstick to the core of my heart!

The staying power of the lipstick is as usual  6-7 hours on me like other MAC lipsticks. I really don’t need to say anything about it.

The texture of the lipstick is matte so definitely it is not hydrating but has excellent color payoff. One swipe is enough to get the actual color of the lipstick on lips. The lipstick being matte is a bit drying so properly exfoliated and moisturized lips are must.  But it glides smoothly on lips.

It comes in a nice classy white and golden packaging. The white case is nice but I think it gets a little dirty if left outside but what lies inside the case is important right?!

I got it for 2k so yes a bit pricey I admit but when it comes to limited editions and that too Riri Hearts MAC Holiday collection I think its totally worth it. I was saving for it from a long time and all thanks to my lovely friend Shivani who made it possible for me to grab it from abroad and that too after a long time after it launch.

Good points about MAC Pleasure Bomb Lipstick:

  • Nice LE packaging.
  • Beautiful and pigmented cool fuchsia shade
  • Matte texture but glide smoothly on lips.
  • Perfect for festive wear
  • Will suit fair to dusky Indian skin tones
  • Very long wearing.
  • And yes Riri Holiday collection makes all the difference!

Bad points about MAC Pleasure Bomb Lipstick:

  • Limited edition so might be now out of stock.
  • I was thinking it is pricey but now after the price hike I think I got a good deal.

Price: $16.50 (It was not launched in India so I got it for 2k)

VNA Rating: 5/5

Dupe: Wet n Wild Cherry Picking, Revlon Cherries in the Snow is a bit deeper, MAC Girl About Town a little less red

My Recommendation: MAC Pleasure Bomb Lipstick is a bright fuchsia pink that screams fall. Its a LE shade but you can get dupes of it. GAT is similar if not same but look quite same on lips. While PB is matte, GAT is amplified cream so if you have girl about town then you have pleasure bomb too.

    • Yes i notice it too, i think the shade being matte but glides super easily and after few mins of application it turn out matte on lips :) So i guess the swatch pics as taken immediately after application so it turn out bit glossy but trust me it is not actually :D
