Bourjois Little Round Pot blusher Rose D’or Golden rose Review and Swatches

By Contributor: Mily

Since I have just started on VNA..it’s obvious I want to share with you guys the best performing products first. So if you are wondering why is she giving every product thumbs up then wait for some time…will share the duds too with you guys. But today I will review and swatch a stunning blush which is said to be a close NARS Orgasm dupe by many people. Bourjois blushers are baked and they all have a French name with the English translation. Hence Rose D’or which means golden rose. I have three blushes from bourjois pot blushers – Rose Frisson, Healthy Mix and Rose D’or and all 3 are amazing in their own ways.

Bourjois Claims: Our timeless blusher has been around for almost 150 years and has made Bourjois famous worldwide thanks to its amazing texture and packaging. The baked texture transforms when applied to the skin into an ultra-fine pressed powder, which is easy to apply and blends impeccably. One stroke of the brush reveals the irresistible aroma of the rose scented powder. Its built-in mirror and brush is perfect for touch-ups on the go! The Little round pot blush exists in 12 shades to match all skin tones.

It comes in 12 shades out of which I have Rose Frisson, Healthy Mix and Rose D’or. The packaging of all the blushers is according to their shades which is great because it becomes easy to distinguish. Sorry but I do not have the picture of the brush because I chuck it as soon as I walk out of the store! So the packaging is very sturdy and has a built in mirror with brush. It has a magnetic lock so there is no hassles in travelling with this in your bag.

This shade is a rose gold shade and is actually bright pink with golden shimmer which is very very fine milled so it just creates that luminosity but does not make you look shimmery. It may look scary in the pan but it transforms into a luminous pink gold blush and makes you look glowing. As it’s a baked blush, it is insanely pigmented and just a small amount is enough but you can totally build it up from sheer to full coverage.

One problem with all bourjois blushes are that they harden over time but one scrap with a blade or any cutter makes them as good as new. I just scrap the upper surface with a visiting card and the blush becomes amazing again. The texture is neither too powdery nor too gritty. Just the right amount. The staying power is average and it lasts for 3-4 hours on my normal-combination skin after which is fades evenly. But I don’t mind touching up as it’s such a gorgeous shade.

The problem with bourjois blushes is that you cannot choose one single shade, all of them are beautiful. I am going to share the other two with you soon so you can make a choice. This particular shade will suit fair to medium Indian skin tones beautifully.
