Lakme Eyeconic Kajal Green Review and Swatches
By Contributor: Agnirupa Acharyya
I am quite sure every one of you is as excited as me to see swatches and read reviews of the newly launched Lakme Eyeconic kajal shades and the especially the white variants. I almost jumped on the first bus I got and rushed to my patent cosmetic store which houses ALL the new launches! I found the L’oreal magique kajal there before other malls and these I was quite sure I would find. And ta-da! I almost hugged the surprised shop girl much to her alarm and immediately bagged a couple- the 1 in focus in today is the Lakme eyeconic kajal in Green.
Lakme Claims: After the phenomenal success of Lakme Eyeconic Black Kajal, Lakmé brings home yet another international trend in the form of Lakmé Eyeconic White- an innovation that’s likely to break all codes of traditional kajal usage’. For years, the black kajal has remained an integral part of an Indian woman’s beauty regime, but the new Lakmé Eyeconic White promises to change the game for eye make-up. Spotted at several runways internationally this is a first of its kind introduction by Lakmé in India.
My Review:
The color green is err..not very green! It is quite a blue tinged green and not at all a true forest green or a pistachio not even a mossy green..its just a darkish greeny blue (yeahh that’s right Lakme has screwed up its color palette) but nonetheless it’s a catchy color and brings out the brown of your eyes and suits Indian skin tones a lot.
The pigmentation of lakme eyeconic is quite good and the bullet color is obtained without much pains quite easily even on the waterline and yes please note I have oily lids.
The body colour of these eyeconic kajals are not at all distinguishable from the usual ones and very disappointingly so. A narrow band near the top bears the color name while the twist up slim pencil are all still in black and cyan which makes it a pain to tell one from the other. The white 1 is white in color though.
The texture is smooth and creamy, quite easy to apply and build opaque color in just a couple of swipes.
Smudgeproof and waterproof?? Yeahh guys totally. I splashed water on my face it did not budge, I tried crying to test it (no I did not..just kidding) and I saw it intact on my oily lids even after a straight 9 hour mark! Impressive!!
Here are the swatches:
My EOTD: no other makeup here as I solely wanted you to know the color
I prefer to wear the color with just a hint on my waterline and a corresponding shimmer eye pencil on my upper lash line!
The pros of Lakme Eyeconic Kajal Green:
- Slim pencil twist up packaging easy to carry and fit in slim purses/clutches
- Smooth and creamy texture, very easy to apply
- A pretty bluish green color which shows up well on lids and looks good on most Indian skin tones
- Good pigmentation and needs just 1-2 swipes to build up opaque color
- Lasts relentlessly on and needs a strong makeup remover to get rid of it completely!
- Does not sting eyes
- Affordable!
The cons of Lakme Eyeconic Kajal Green:
- Foolish non-color coded pencils!
The colors are the ordinary ones offered by many other brands and if not for the very pocket friendly 250 bucks they are not must-haves really. Till the next time keep buying and a very very happy new year to all of you!! Love ya!!
Price: Rs.250
VNA Rating: 4/5
Do I recommend? Lakme Eyeconic Kajal Green is a pretty blue green shade. For the texture, quality, pigmentation and price..these eye pencils are no doubt going to rock the market and steal the thunder very soon from the sole reign of Maybelline colossal kajals who are all err..black. I am very impressed with lakme eyeconic
