Sunsilk Keratinology Shampoo and Conditioner Review

The Sunsilk Keratinology range was released sometime back and I read a lot of good reviews on it. Now I’m one person who gets bored very easily. I try to change my shower gels, shampoos and conditioners at the first chance I get. So I went ahead and tried the Sunsilk range. This was the first time I was giving a chance to Sunsilk after a gap of 7-8years. I used to use their pink bottle in middle school! *nostalgia*. Now the packaging has drastically changed for better.  Its more sleek, polished and sophisticated now. I will
review the one by one.

Sunsilk Keratinology Advanced Reconstruction Program Detoxifying Shampoo features a cleansing formula that works on salon-treated hair to gently remove residue. The shampoo penetrates the hair fibre to help restore and retain moisture loss, while conditioning ingredients help to repair surface damage by sealing cuticles and locking in your colour for longer.

The shampoo’s USP is that it really really cleanses your hair, so much that you start noticing it. It is one shampoo I make a point to use after oiling my hair. Because oiled hair needs atleast 2-3 washes for the oil to completely go away, this one did it for me in the first wash after I oil my hair with Body Shop Coconut Oil. It lathers very well too. This is meant for salon treated hair and my hair are virgin so can’t comment on that. I’ve not noticed any improvement in my hair texture. It just preserves them the way they are. You will need to use a conditioner with this shampoo since it can be a little drying. If you regularly use conditioners then this may not trouble you but I thought  should mention that.

Next up is the Sunsilk Keratinology Advanced Reconstruction Program Express Treatment Conditioner.

Sunsilk Keratinology Advanced Reconstruction Program Express Treatment Conditioner

Sunsilk Keratinology Advanced Reconstruction Program Express Treatment Conditioner prepares hair for intensive repair. The conditioner has been formulated with Keratin Micro Technology to prolong the look and feel of salon-like hair and to address the damage caused by bleaching, colouring, and heat styling. Suitable for damaged hair.

This conditioner is thick and creamy and almost buttery but without the gross smell (I don’t like butter!). Rather it smells really good. My vocabulary for good fragrances is limited to nice, good, very good so can’t help! It makes my hair soft and smooth. Well its pretty much does what a good conditioner is supposed to do…..condition! You can stick to your regular conditioner if its good or you can try this one for a change. If you are looking for a good conditioner then I recommend it.

Price: Rs.200 each for 200ml

So is it for you? Yes if you have salon treated hair or if you are like me who changes her hair care range out of boredom. The shampoo lathers very well leaving your hair clean and takes out all the grease and dirt in one wash. The conditioner on the other hand smells really good and makes my hair soft, smooth and tangle free. Thumbs up.

PS – I was just out of shower (along with the bottles) when I clicked the photos!
