L’Oreal Infallible Lipstick in Always Apricot Review, Photos, Swatches
Before I start, a word of advise to all the college pass outs who are going through the rigorous placement and interview process. Yesterday I had my interview in a B-School and I was suprised shocked stunned to see this girl fully decked up in bright pink makeup. Okay I keep stressing here that how important it is to look presentable at all times but that by no way means you should go roll over in that huge pan of blush. Interview makeup (or any day makeup for that matter) should be light and fresh. You really don’t need to shout out to the world that you have all the makeup essentials from that ‘newly’ launched Mac collection! This girl I’m talking about was wearing a hot pink lipstick, green eye makeup with winged liner and barbie pink cheeks (which were like two tiny blobs of pink spots on her cheeks). Another girl I saw commited the cardinal sin of not preping up her skin before wearing a foundation, so all she had was white flaky skin all over her face which was quite scary (ummm…may be that’s why everyone was maintaining a distance of atleast 200ms from her). I so wanted to hand her a note under the table reading why don’t you please read www.vanitynoapologies.com before coming for the counselling session. See I’m not trying to make fun of these girls, but puh-leez puhhleez keep it light and simple for the interviews. Okay done.

L'Oreal Infallible Le Rouge Lipstick in Always Apricot Review

L’Oreal Claims: Infallible Le Rouge stays fresh and vibrant looking for up to 10 hours without feeling sticky, tacky or dry. Enriched with Vitamin E for moisture and Ceramide 5 for conditioning, Infallible Le Rouge applies evenly without flaking or fading out.

The new Infallible Le Rouge formula is based on L’Oréal’s Colour Bond Technology that features a flexible network that captures and fixes colour on lips. This is made possible by an association of adhesive polymers that allows for the longevity of the lipcolour, as well as sillicon micro spheres that ensure only the richest lipcolour will be left on a woman’s lips.

The Colour: Always Apricot is a warm orange with lustre finish. It has very fine golden shimmer particles that impart a gold lustre shine to it. It can also be described as a yellow metallic orange. Since it is sheer, you can very easily pull it off during the day. A few more swipes of it and it turns into a wonderful night time orange with golden shimmer. So it is one of those colours you can keep in your bag which can be used day and night depending on how you wear it. Since it has warm tones, it is most likely to suit medium to dark skin tones. If you are always running away from orange lipsticks then you must try this, since this is sheer you get full control over the intensity of the color and ow you build it up.

Quality, Texture and Longevity: The texture and feel is semi matte and lustre. Despite being a long lasting formula, it is non drying. You can wear a very thin layer of lip balm underneath (well this is what I do with long lasting lip colors so they don’t get dry over time) to keep away any signs of dryness which you generally get after 4-5 hours. I wore it in the day and the color was still intact when I got home…so I can safely say it stays on for around 7-8 hours on me. Also, it glides on easily without flaking up and never settles into the fine lines of lips. This is one of the best long staying lip color I’ve tried in a long time. Also, the bullet has this thin diameter which makes it very easy to apply the lipstick straight from the tube, even beginners can get it right the first time without messing up!

A few words on the packaging: The lipstick is sturdy and closes with a ‘clicckkkk’ which relieves you of it messing up in your bag but it is bulky. Also, if you have a few more of these then it gets difficult to distinguish them in your vanity without looking at the labels. At this price, I would expect a little more good-to-look-at packaging.

So is it for you? Yes it is a pretty orange (which by the way is the colour of the season) with metallic finish to it. The shimmer is not easily visible to the bare eye, it just imparts a lovely shine. If you are afraid of orange lipsticks then give this one a chance since it is sheer and you have full control over the intensity of the colour. The formula is top notch and stays on for 7-8 hours with meals in between and doesn’t flakes and dries your lips. It is one of those good quality long lasting lip colors available in the market.
